As I recall a FLuPIC or GD1000 driver were the options. With those an AW RCR123 can be used. If yours is bright with a CR123, then I would say it's a GD1000, since with a FLuPIC it would be dim.

What converter is it running? My Griffin was an R2/FluPIC, which is best run with a rechargeable.
Hi donn not sure how to check is there any markings / numbers anywhere ? but going off the brightness test as advised by Nake i would say its quite bright well over 100 lumens (a lot brighter in the center than e1b with tons more spill ) so it may be the GD1000 .....

If it's a GD-1000, it's perfectly alright with a single Li-Ion.
