Here's a thread that lists a lot of options. Not listed there, I don't think, is Manker MC12 with a red LED option. I have an older model of MC13 that uses a red LED with a throwing optic that makes the most amazingly tight beam, no flood at all, making it kind of single-purposed. The MC12 appears to have a similar optic. Another option is to choose pretty much whatever flashlight you happen to like and have Vinh modify it for you with a red LED. His LED swap rates are very reasonable. Maglite Solitaire and XL50 now come with a red LED option. Regardless, you can do far better than the Recon.
