I've got an Inova T4 coming in the mail shortly, and want to put some type of protective shield on both ends of the light to avoid damage from drops or sliding across driveway or whatever. This is going to be my garage light and will most likely be used while underneath cars, and I can't cover the whole light as it needs to still fit in the wall charger dock. I've seen some stuff like this before, but didn't know exactly what it was called, hence the 'search' feature wouldn't do me much good in this case. Any suggestions?

Heatshrink tubing is available in a variety of sizes and colors. It is not rubber tho. Check any electronic supply house. Even Radio Shack carries some limited sizes. Some hobby shops that sell Radio Controlled cars sell it also. You can also buy liquid plastic dip used for coating tool handles.

Like Torque1st pointed out the electrical supply stores will be a best bet, and if you're planning on protection against falls onto concrete, I'd get the heavy duty type that you'll only find in that type of store.

There will also more commonly be a lighter, thinner version available, which is what I'm using on my lights and it will probably be the only thing you'll find if you go to Radio Shack, Lowes or Home Depot, but the electronic supply houses with have the heavy duty 'elephant skin' you're after.
