I am looking for a P60 style dropin that is rated for 3 volts. The closest things I have found are the Malkoff M31 and a 3-mode dropin from Lumens Factory. Does anyone have an extra replacement lamp for their old 3P? That would be ideal. Please let me know if you do.

40 lumens incandescent would be perfect. Lumens Factory makes their 40 lumens HO-E1A lamp for the E1e. If I could fit that bulb into a P60 module, I would have an ideal setup. But I figure the original incan bulb for the 3P is going to be pretty close and quite to my liking.

Will a regular SF P60 light up on a 3 volt? i know it will on a 3.7. Could do it that way. Use a 16340/P60

Yes, it will light up on a 3 volt primary, but it doesn't put out very much light. I'd have to go to 3.7 volts, as you and fivemega have pointed out.

Genuine P60 bulb needs 5 volt to shine up nicely and will under driven with 3.7 volt.
BTW on Alkalines you better not go higher than 1 Amps otherwise you will drain batteries quickly.
Genuine P60 bulb is 5 Volts, 1.2 Amps.

The last batch of Malkoff M31LLL from illumn was rated at 50 lumens. Out of stock at the moment but they do come back into stock from time to time.
It would be easier than finding an original r30 lamp. Is the r30 considered unobtainium now? It's been out of production for years.

I know this sounds crazy, but IIRC the Malkoff M91B does about that output from 1xCR123 (far brighter with an IMR LiIon). This particular module has unparalleled flexibility IMO.

Thanks for the additional suggestions. Actually, the Malkofff M31LLL 219B is exactly what I have been using in that light, as no 3P lamp turned up. It's one of my favorite dropins.

Hey @troutpool What don't you like about the Malkoff one? Are you really just looking for a period correct R30 or do you want a lower-powered really warm tint 3V LED? Do you prefer using a CR123 or li-ion?

I had a 3P clone years ago and I remember trying to find a good LED module for it. You got me toying with the idea of getting some components and trying to dial in a good 3V module that would be decent on a single CR1223.

I am perfectly happy with the Malkoff and am no longer looking for a 3P lamp. The Malkoff is 3V, so I am using CR123 with it.
