1st impressions.

SBT70 is a defunkt led... produces 3-4x as much heat as xml2 u3 and only minimal visual lumen gains vs xml2... also - OTF lumen drop like a brick over first few minutes due to HUGE current requirement (9-10amps) XML2 PDT outthrows and outclasses sbt70 with only a minimal lumen sacrifice to my eyes.

XML2 PDTn = best tint so far and also best color rendering in throw mode.

MTG2 = OTF lumen winner @ turn on - but not sure what is going on as around 20 sec OTF lumen drop around 50%+? This is the second "zener" mod driver I have seen this in... the first being the m2500 p60... I am going to retest with keepower 5200s to see if that makes a difference

NUMBERS ARE NOT FINAL! RESTESTING EVERYTHING TONIGHT! and tomorrow too with different batteries.

I am too - I dont understand whats going on really - its not getting too hot

but before we worry too much let me test with keep power 5200 mah to see if the same thing happens.

Pretty easy test. Just get a volt-meter and test the Amperage. It should read 5~6A, but if it drops suddenly than something is up with your driver.

If you wire the negative wire to the host most drivers go direct drive. that's anther easy temp fix to test lumens and amps.

I think ~3A is ok for the Zener mod. More than that is too much heat...This is the first time I have used the zener mod up to 6A...U3 numbers looks nice and its a great alternative ...

I've got the Zener with MTG-2 in a Mag mod - I must admit I haven't driven it much. I'll try to see this weekend - but it also runs on 32650 cells which I've found some of the Mag Mods work WAY better with 32650 cells than the IMR 26650

How long can it run on turbo? Does it get super hot quickly? Would this light benefit from the extra $20 copper heat sink?

thanks for doing this...hopefully the keep powers makes the difference. i dunno how it would though. i dont think they are that superiour over the kinokos
