Hope someone at CPF might be able to help me with this question. I have Streamlight Twintask 3C, which has a Xenon bulb as well as 2 LED settings. I'd like to try and get some spare Xenon bulbs, but so far I haven't found anywhere that will ship them internationally at a reasonable price - USD 25 for the first pound on a (small!) $6-7 item is a bit steep.

Does anyone know if it might be possible to use another similar bulb, perhaps something like that from a 3 Cell Maglite in this flashlight ?

(Yes I've considered an LED mod - but I don't think I have expertise. However I've learnt my lesson - LED only from now on !)

Cheers,
Daniel

Hi, and welcome! I have the same problem with my TT3C. I finally called Streamlight customer service, and explained that there was no convenient local source for bulbs. The lady told me to send a check for $5.50 USD for a package of bulbs and the changing tool. They took care of the shipping! Don't know if that will work outside the continental U.S., but it might be worth a try. Brightguy.com has them, but I don't know what shipping would be. With Streamlight, You have to get past the dude that answers the email. His memorized answer is "We don't sell direct." Good luck with your search.

Try using nimh C cells and a Carley 1122 bulb in the 3C. It's a 3.5V, 2.3A bulb that blows away the stocker. You'll still get 2+ hours of runtime per charge. At 8 watts, it shouldn't be a problem for the plastic reflector; I've been using mine in 10-15 minute runs with no problems yet.
