Xenonics Nighthunter One and Maxabeam lamp

Sorry to dig this up, but I also own a One, and am interested in replacement bulbs. Is there a generic that I can install myself?

B&H wants $424 for one, which seems quite steep...but maybe I'm wrong.

Peakbeam uses a Ushio lamp but it's made to their own specs so it's probably not exactly the same. And in fact, they will not recommend the use of a standard UXL-75 in the MB. There's a guy on Ebay that sells one generation back OEM Peakbeam bulbs (has the rounded arc chamber, not the stick bulb) which I am using in my MB's and they work great. Much less than current OEM PB bulb. Search for Maxabeam and bulb, that should bring it up. But to answer your main question, I don't know if both lights use the same bulb.

I should clarify, I'm wordering about the Xenonics Nighthunter bulb, part # NH1-6111. It's actually $449.95 from B&H, $500 direct from Xenonics. They said it was a custom bulb, but I'm wondering if there's a more generic bulb that can be re-installed in the base.

I believe the nighthunter bulb is a Ushio UXL-75XE (i could be wrong though)

The Ushio UXL-75XE wont fit in a Maxabeam without a set of Adapters - CPF member ParkerVH makes these adapters
My MB (bought 2nd hand from ParkerVH) came with the adapters and an installed ushio bulb - mine gets 7.2 millionCP with a properly centered bulb
I havent tried a proper PeakBeam bulb for the Maxabeam yet - i probably should get one as a spare
