XR-Eor Lux LED?

I cant find any thread where it says how you can tell the diffrence between a XR-E led and a Lux LED. I wonder because my friedn just bought a light claiming its a XR-E led, but how does one truly know?

The LEDs look different, Cree has a little black line in the LED. It seems that the Cree LED looks green all around while Luxeon LEDs only have the phosphor in the center. Luxeon LEDs have a green square within a silver hexagon. And the Cree has a metal ring around the LED dome. This only goes for the white LEDs.

I think only the Luxeon K2 is like this...maybe the Luxeon 5 too, not sure. The other Luxeons have a round bezel around the phoshpor.

Just do a search here for Cree LED, I'm sure you can find a picture so that you can tell what your friend's light is.

Nice to see some pics! Have a Lux led and now a couple of cree!
