Well I have had the EQ2 for a few months now and tonight is the first time I sharpened (it I'll get to that later) and I thought I'd write a review so here it is.
Specs from Yun's site
EQ-2
Blade steel : ATS-34, double tempered and sub zero.(Mine is the ZDP189 Laminated in ATS34 Version also double tempered ETC)
Thickness : 1/8".
Blade length : 2 1/4" from tip to handle
Closed length : 3 1/4"
Opened length : 5 1/2"
Blade Width : 1 "
Handle : Grooved black/blue G-10 1/8" thickness
Locking system : Frame lock
Frame : 6AL 4V titanium 1/8" thickness.
Clip : 6AL 4V titanium
Pivot : Hardened 440C in Yin-Yang style.
This knife is great for a number of reasons. It's very tough I tested the blade the usual way to check for toughness and if it will chip. The way I do it is I make several pushcuts through thick coax and cat5 cables and guess what, it didnt chip. I also stabbed through a tin soup can several times with no damage to the tip from it.
Edge retention GREAT! One day I had to cut up poop load of cardboard boxes at work and it still shaved after. The only knife I have ever seen do that. My S30V knives wont shave after 1 box. I know I know it will still cut and stay sharp even though it doesn't shave but this goes to show me that this knife will stay sharp much longer. I definitely could have gotten by this whole time without sharpening it but you know how we are.
It's light weight 66grams a little over 2 ounces.
It's size is nice for EDC fits perfectly into the watch pocket of any jeans.
SUPER SMOOTH action once I broke it in a little. It has teflon washers that look pretty thick.
Egros are awesome just like my Mini Hard. It feels like that thing aint going nowhere once you have a grip. Nice jimping in good places and I like the grooves in the G10.
Ease of sharpening. I was shocked to raise a bur on the first pass on my DMT EC stone. I hear all this talk of ZDP being hard to sharpen but this was one of the easiest steels I have experienced yet. It really didn't need sharpening but I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to the sharpness of my knives. I kept it scary sharp just stropping it since I got it. Not bad for 64-65 hardness.
Lockup is good with no play at all and blade is perfectly centered.
Price is great! I'm not too scared to hard use it.
What impresses me more is that these knives are produced using only a hacksaw, homemade 4" grinder and a dremel essentially.
If you like small tough as hell folders like the PT and Small Sebbie you will probably like this knife.
All in all a aweome knife!
