After lurking on CPF for a while, I decided to get a ZL H600w II for my wife. This is our first experience with a non AA or AAA flashlight. I'm impressed.

I do have one question, though. On the H1 setting (the brightest) the rubber on/off button starts getting pretty warm after several minutes. Of course the entire business end of the light gets warm, but I'm mostly concerned about the heat degrading the rubber protecting the switch.

I don't have an IR gun so I don't have a specific temperature to report. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the amount of heat theirs makes.

The button on my SC62 as well as my H600Fd definitely gets hot because, like you said, that whole end of the flashlight gets so hot. Even after a year of heavy use, my SC62 button is showing no signs of deterioration. I hope your experience is the same; I'd say it's nothing to worry about!

On those cold dark nights.................cut a (button size) hole in ones glove and have a heated thumb/finger!

Hey, that's an awesome idea. My wife will be using the light on nightshifts, hosing out coal chutes and cleaning underneath conveyors. It'll be cold and wet for the next few months.

Maybe I should get nine more. Then the trick would be to sew up some sort of vest, with receptacles for all those lights, that she could wear over her raingear.

900 lumens X 10 that oughta do it
