Almost pulled the trigger on the Zebralight then stumbled on the Solarforce T4!

Now of course the correct answer is to get em both, but i just cant do that right now!

I love the side button on the Zebra but the potential of add ons and mods I can do to the T4 are plenty... Also the ability to use 2 x AA with the extender is nice as well. Technically i dont need a headlight but i like that both can work great as headlights!

Looks like both of them are the same price.. roughly $50 USD or so...

What do you guys think?

a whole room full of flashaholics and nobody can give their opinion?

come on guys i need help here! Ive read the reviews on them both but does anybody else have any other experience with these lights or if there may be a deciding factor that Im not aware of?

is it just cuz these lights are under 100$ so nobody really cares?

suggestions?

Thanks people!

I think the problem may be that you are asking about two relatively rare lights. There probably aren't a whole lot of people that have both. Personally, I don't have either, but I would go with the Zebralight (I'm seriously considering buying one). The only thing that stops me is the side switch. I'm just too used to tail switches; I'm not sure I'd be happy with the side switch. Especially if it comes on by accident as often as some of the reviews say. On the other hand, if a side-switch is what you want...

As far as I can tell, the Zebralight UI seems like it should be just about perfect. The Solarforce, on the other hand, is just a run-of-the-mill 2-level forward clicky.

Also, the Solarforce uses an XR-E Q5, while the Zebralight uses the more efficient and probably less ringy XP-E R2.

In conclusion, get both. :D (seriously, though, I vote Zebralight)

I chose the Zebralight SC30 for two reasons. 1. It has a switch on the body, not the tailcap so it's a lot more useable in my hand than a torch with a tailcap switch. 2. The zebralight will turn on in high mode and that makes it better than any other multimode torch I own which all seem to come on in the lowest and most useless (to me) mode.

The T4, well I looked it up and it's just another tailcap switched torch with some interesting looking add-ons, none of which I'd ever use.

There y'ar, that's what I think.

I've got the SC50. I actually really like having a side switch instead of the switch at the tailcap! Never had any issues with it accidentally turning on in my pocket, but if you want to be sure theres always tailcap lock-out.

guess i just wanted to bounce it off of you guys as everyone in my family looks at me like im crazy any time i ask for their input on the hobby...

After reading responses, yeah im going with the zebralight. Thanks for the input, it made me realize I just liked the Surefire E1x look-alike aspect and interesting accessories of the T4 where the Zebra is an all around better light for what im looking for.

Thanks!

lovecpf

If it's anything like my Zebralight H501, it can start on low (press and hold briefly) and medium (double click) too. So just some information for people who are not familiar with the Zebralight UI:

This UI will let you start on any mode: low, medium, or high with minimal clicks:

1. Quick click (high)

2. Double click (medium)

3. Click and hold briefly (low)

I have a Zebralight SC30 and LOVE it!

I did have an accidental "On" while in my pocket but that was because my dog rudely jumped on my lap and she has toe nails (claws) that are almost as long as fingers. Regardless, I don't think you'd be disappointed in owning one.
