Zebralight switch question

Just got a ZL H50 and noticed that I am able to cycle through the output levels by clicking the entire tailcap. Doesn't stay on, but it is a quick way to cycle through the levels without doing the whole twisty thing.

Is this designed behavior? It's such a positive 'click' that it seems designed to work that way, but no mention is made in the instructions. Anyway, I like it as it makes it quicker to cycle to the desired output.

Most twistie lights have enough play in the threads to allow quick contact like this. My ZL doesn't seem to do it very easily.

I have the same "issue" with my Zebralight. Makes me wonder whether or not it will waste battery when it is jammed in my pocket/pack and the cap is being compressed. Guess it's safer to loosen it more!

My ZL doesn't do this either, but tons of twisties of mine do. JetBeams, L0D, CMG Infinity, etc.

If I twist the cap of mine very close to switching on the light, I can then depress the cap to cycle through the different modes.

Yep, mine can be used as an instant on-off-switch too.
I find it rather annoying though - mainly because I always need to make sure that I twist it far enough to keep it off in my pocket.
