Any suggestions at a quality level similar to Inova or Gerber?

Yeah, the Fenix would be my overwhelming recommendation.

Or a mod based on the Minimag. There's the TLE-5 which is nice. And various pills all the way up to direct drive Lux IIIs.

Here's an idea, did this for my girlfriend and it's a hit....21 bucks and change at amondotech.com where I got mine...errrr...hers...

and then get her a 15 dollar case of 12 Titanium or similar cells to hold her for a long time. That puts you at about $40 after shipping and the gift keeps on giving when the battery goes down. That light has a nice run curve too. nice little torch! Just mho as an option. Cheers ! come on...spend it !:poke:

I like mine and second this option. The Mini Maglites are well built and available in several colors to suit your girlfriend's preference. Accessories designed for the Mini Maglite (e.g., holsters, pocket clips, lanyard, spare lenses, etc.) are sold in many stores. The Mini Maglite is made in USA and its beam focus can be adjusted somewhat.

Here is a brochure describing the TerraLUX TLE-5 MiniStar2:

Unfortunately, it's not a very long list.

Like everyone else, I'm waiting to see some runtimes before I buy a Fenix L2P.

I've been following the thread about aa extenders being used on an Inova X03 and T3, but I'd like to know runtimes before I plunge in.

Basically, the aa lux market is wide open, and I continue to be amazed at how neglected it is; especially for regulated LUX III.

It's a pity that the Gerber LX1 and LX2 are not regulated.
