Where's mine now? Apparently sitting at someone else's house! Today, an hour or so before the mail usually arrives, someone I didn't recognize, in a car I'd never seen, knocks on the door, hands me a USPS Priority package, says "Merry Christmas," and leaves. I live in the country, get stuff shipped in all the time, and the one thing that gets mis-delivered is the one thing I can't just reorder. Just goes to show ... something

Oh, works fine on the one Aleph I've tried it with (AW cell) although there's a little rattle, solved with a bit of card stock.

Glad to hear it arrived safe and sound.

There has been CPF discussions over cell sizes and differences between brands, protected cells versus unprotected etc, etc. I sized the I.D. with this in mind. I personally like the extra room in the cell chamber for one wrap of paper, it's a good soft liner to protect the battery jacket.

I my experience, with off the shelf AA NiMH batteries, it seems the battery jacket scuffs, or rips long before the charge/discharge life of the cell expires.

Another great alternative is Dymo Letra Tag label stock, the silver or green outdoor rated type. If you have one of these label makers, you can make a + and - label for each end of the cell, and a double + label for the charger. Adjust the length of the label so it wraps the circumference of the battery and the cell will fit as tightly as you desire, and you'll know polarity at a glance.:grin2:

Well aren't you clever :) After Googling the Dymo, I see I'm probably the only human on the planet who hasn't heard of the thing. So I got one!

Thanks for the tip

The outdoor rated labels are incredibly durable. I made a nametag for one of my wife's kitchen untensils, stuck it to the back of the handle and it has survived at least 25 dishwasher cycles with no apparent wear to the label.
