I got one of those AAA 1W lamps with the PR base. Using my cheap voltmeter, I show the draw to be near 0.20A with AAA, but when I put the bulb into my 3D mag, the draw is 0.28A. Will I kill the 1W with the increase in draw? If so, how much reistance do I need to add.

Thanks.

That is comforting to know. I was wondering where I was going to solder them. Now no worries.

Thanks.

I've never taken one apart, but someone did... Maybe Nikon, and it is resistored under the LED emitter.

If you measure .28 from the cells, the emitter is seeing less than that so you should be well within the safey margin. I've run one of mine through about 5 charges of AAA NiMHs and a single set of 3 Energizer D cells and it's still brighter than my other module.

If it contains only a resistor, then the emitter sees exactly the current that the cells deliver.

Oops... my bad...

I though it the star still saw reduced current due to light resistance, switch resistance and things like that.
