As I was exiting the sporting goods section, I passed by the fishing supplies and was stopped in my tracks by this:
http://www.coastcutlery.com/?v=35&pl=93&p=520 I think it was $10

Right below that was:
http://www.coastcutlery.com/?v=35&pl=93&p=526 Again, I think $10

And below that was a set that included:
http://www.coastcutlery.com/?v=&pl=93&p=372 in red with wand cover
and this one:
http://www.coastcutlery.com/?v=34&pl=93&p=380 can't remember if it was red or white. This 2 piece set also included a sheath that held both lights and their covers, for $19.95

I couldnt' buy anything, was all out of cash after gassing up and buying xmas cards, but I'm definatly curious what these are all like!

All of the packing on these items had fishing themes or fishing names (ex: tacklebox light), and were only found in the fishing section, NOT the specific flashlight section.

I hope some other Wal-Marts are carrying these as well, and I may have to get the $19.95 combo or clip-light to see how that performs.

Happy Hunting!

Similiar, if not the same manufacturer (but comes with a pocket clip instead of a swivel clip)

Target also sells one that looks like that (white)

SuperNinja,

You seam to have your finger on the pulse of some unique electronic websites. I was intriged at the low cost of some led lights found on your links.

Could you perhaps post some more links to similar websites?

Thanks a bunch,
Dan

Don't get too excited.

Although they have some LED lights, the ones I got from Allelectronics in the past (2+ years ago) were ok, but nothing to write home about.

Like most sources, they do have good prices on some stuff, and also some terrible prices too.

So far, AXShop seems to have some of the lowest prices, but they also have their fair share of complaints too (most having to do with quality, or shipping issues). I haven't had any problems with them myself though (so far).

Here is a list of some mail order electronics businesses I have bought from in the past (not necessarily LED flashlight dealers though, and may not necessarily have very low prices):

http://www.allelectronics.com/ These guys have a variety of neat stuff

http://www.dalbani.com/ This company always had really good prices on electronics, but their website really sucks and is down more often than it is up.

http://www.dalco.com/ I have bought cable testing equipment and connectors from these guys a long time ago. They seem to sell a lot more computer stuff now. They are ok, but I don't think they are the cheapest.

http://www.goldmine-elec.com/ This place is similiar to allelectronics.com

http://www.futurlec.com/ I only bought one thing from this place (some flash roms). I bought from them, because at the time (a couple years ago), their prices for the flash roms were substantially cheaper than any other other online merchant that I could find that was selling the same type chip.

http://www.meci.com/ I bought from these guys a couple times, several years ago. They had quite a bit of neat stuff back then, but I haven't checked to see what they have in years.

http://www.mcminone.com/ I have bought from these guys several times, many years ago. They have a lot of stuff, but they are not always the cheapest.

http://www.mpja.com/ I have bought from these guys a couple times too, a long time ago.

http://www.rogerssystems.com/ I got some cabling, connectors and pins at really great prices from these guys several years ago. I haven't bought from them since, so I don't know how they are now.

http://www.skycraftsurplus.com/ This site seems to have prices a little on the high side, but they often have uncommon surplus stuff too.

http://www.surpluscomputers.com/ I haven't bought from these guys yet, but a lot of deal sites post about LED flashlights from here.

http://www.surplusshed.com/ I haven't bought anything here yet. They sell some odd surplus gizmos here.

http://www.jameco.com Not the best prices on electronics, but they occasionally had something I was interested in.

http://www.wihatools.com/ This is a tool company that that I have bookmarked just in case I have to have some bizarre, uncommon specializing tool (for example, REALLY tiny torx screwdrivers). I cannot recommend them otherwise, since although their tools are high quality, their prices are equally high.

http://www.willem.org/ For those that want an eprom burner, but don't want to pay an arm and leg for it.
I bought one, but for a little cheaper (around $50) from some seller in china. It seems to work decently.
(Note: The one I got connects to a PC parallel port, and did NOT work with a laptop parallel port, but works just fine with a desktop PC parallel port.)

I picked up a Coast LED Lenser V2 (3-AAA magazine) last weekend at Costco for $29.xx. It has a pretty odd looking lens. Output is fairly impressive for an "inexpensive" light, (mostly a bluish white flood) - to me it makes the Q3 seem pretty dim and green by comparison. Beam quality is ok except it has some ugly m@ggy-looking rings up close (4 ft.) against a wall so I will probably spray the reflector with clear enamel if I can figure out how to get in there...YMMV.
