Does anyone make a Lux III or V drop in for the Mag? thinking of converting a few over to led. Wouldn't mind getting Blaster type performance.

Also seeking recommendations on bulb replacements. Finally what about those multi led replacements? Like the ones that have 20-40 leds on them.

The DB-3W is a Lux III. Easy screw on mod. Bright, but not regulated, good upgrade for the Mag.

I have two of these and they are amazing. Large hot spot and a VERY large corona (It lights up an entire room). It also throws better than you would expect (Not like a LEDBeam or Inova of course but you will be surprised). One word of caution :If you decide that you don't like or need the plastic tubes on three of the LED's CUT them off - Don't pull or you may pull out one of the LED's with it.
He also makes a 14 led plate that uses 10mm LED's. Much more defined hot spot but it still has a really big corona.
Diamond also makes a 5 watt maglit replacement bulb (if you can find it...). It comes with a battery tube and 3 CR1123a's so you can use it with a 2D maglite and it can also be used with a 6D maglite (if you don't mind a 19 1/2" flashlight that's as heavy as a baby :) ).
He seems to post items at least once a month.
There used to be a guy who was making 40 LED adapters but I kept missing him and he seems to have quit now.
Don't forget Inretech (If you have deep pockets)

Exactly what Not2Bright suggested. The LED-Replacement sells these and then some. And YES they are Bright in its own right. Enjoy!

how would one of those 35 led dropins run a 2D mag with 2-1D to 3AA adapators work, will the 6 AA's burn it out?

So, you're exclusively looking for LED replacements for D-sized mags? If you're after the minimMag, check out AuroraLite's Dummy guide for minimag modding (search his posts)

It's designed for 3 C or D cells which equals 4.5 volts. Six AA's owuld equal 9 volts and would probably fry it. You could put it in a 2D mag and use one 3AA to D apapter and one D size dummy cell (http://www.led-replacement.com/6_maglite.html). I'm not sure what kind of battery life you'd get though. Maybe 40 minutes to 50%.Too bad maglite doesn't make a 1D light it6 would be perfect for that.
