GOOD, I hate winter, baaaahhh humbug
Its dark by the time I get home from work,

Interesting, I'm not sure if everywhere or only limited to certain locales but the sunset actually started setting later, a week ago. The sun will continue to rise later in the morning for another week. I wonder what is the explanation for this?

Happy Winter Solstice to everyone also. While I like playing with lights, I much prefer that BIG incandescent light in the sky so I'm looking forward to the days getting longer again.

To put it in the simplest terms, this planet has an elliptical orbit around the Sun, not a perfectly circular one. That's why there is that differential between sunset and sunrise times at both winter and summer solstices.geepondy said:
