I've been using and comparing these 2 lights for throwability, mostly indoors of 5 to 10 meters. according to flashlightreviews.com the 3C throws 3730 lux while L1P throws 650 lux. however my 3C seems at most 2-3 times brighter thanmy L1P rather than the roughly 5x calculated. any views on this?

I have a very good explanation... His lux ratings is the 'throw' the light has, not how bright it is. The 'overall output' is a much better indicator of how much light the flashlight will put into a small area such as a room.

The Fenix scored 1800 while the 3C scored 2600 so it isn't even twice as bright according to his testing. These correlate to rough Lumen readings of 25 and 36 respectively using the 'x1.4' method. They are both likely using R-binned Luxeon emitters and the Streamlight is just getting a bit closer to the max theorhetical limit of the R-bin's capabilities.
