Looks like a nice accessory, if it doesn't malfunction! :)
Would be nicer if you had the option of constant on for the red LED too.

sweet! Hopefully it works better than the RAM switch they now bundle with their drop-in LED

:wonders if it'll work with sammies, incan, and/or othre drop-ins:

The IQ switch looks interesting, but I don't see a lanyard hole. Wonder how much current the switch will draw while "off."
I hope it will be fully compatible with Nite Ize and TerraLux drop-in LED modules.

I don't think the current tailswitch is a Ram switch for two reasons.

1. They fit on all mini mags I've tested to date, new and old.

2. They seem to work.

I have only tested two units to date from both Nite Ize and Ram. Nite Ize 2-0, Ram 0-2. :)

They could be made by the same source except that they are made to correct spec.

Is it supposed to work with their LED lamp upgrade or only with a (heaven forbid) stock lamp?

YES!
Now my Peak Mediterranean 2AA can kick the Kroll habit...my BB500 R2H minimag as well. Not much of a concern if the 100/50/25% switching works but if it does, an added bonus.

Actually when NitIze says it works with LED modules they are PROBABLY thinking about thier own LED module.

there is a BIG bifference between 100-150 mA on their module and 500-800 mA on the sandwitches.

I MIGHT work but I would not be suprised if the first few people to try blew theirs out.

Looks like they changed the prototype from 2004. I ran across this when I was trying to find out how much the tail switch will retail for (I still don't know)

It looks like it's more compact then the old version. They don't have the tri color power level indicators either.

Cool! I wonder how much it will cost?

If the new tail switch makes the Mini Maglite much longer, it will no longer fit in some of the belt holsters sold for the original Mini Maglite.
