Hi to all on CPF,
Is it possible touse the Luxeon 3W as a wide angle floodlight and also as a longdistance throw flashlight without the use of lens/reflectors?

Secondly is there an easy way of making the Lueon splashproof eg. coating the whole thing in some seethru resin.

Thanks

YOu could use optics, but that might be considered a lens. But I think luxeon LEDs are already splashproof, but i dont know.

No, pretty much by definition. The only non-reflectored, non-collimated light source with any distance reach is a laser.

No to the first and LEDs are solid state devices. They are already encased in plastic and are waterproof.
