I've managed to get hold of some AA maglight clones with switches in the torch body.
Now, the bulbs in 'em are standard filaments... and I want to put a 3w luxeon in there.
Now, I've found quite a good source for 3w luxeons locally, so basically I need to find a driver and also find a good way of heatsinking the star. Now, I think I will be able to mount the optics ok, and I should be able to fix the whole head on the torch as I already have an on/off switch on the body.
So, basically, whats a good, small (well, smaller than the star if possible) and efficient driver that will take 3v and below in, while outputting 2.6v ~ 700mA.
