couple of weeks ago i posted in General flashlight discussions abt how My boss dried up my SF CR123s in my C-2. I didnt throw away the batteries, just kept them in my flashlight case.

So today i received my KL3 LED head with the beamshaper & red filter.
So, just to test whether my dead SF CR123 can be put to good use, i popped in the batteries, lo & behold, there is light!

I mean, its not very bright as compared to putting in fresh new batteries, but it is still useful light to use in situations that does not require major illumination. coupled with the red filter, still puts out a decent red beam...

im impressed....:)

The KL3 only draws around 220 ma, and that's why it can prob squeeze the life out of seemingly 'dead' batts. That also explains its freakishly long runtime of 3h40mins and 7hrs on 3 cells.

Good optics make the light very usable as a thrower (only). A KL3 putting out 1 amp would be killer!!! hmmmm.....
