Firefox 1.5 and CPF

Lately a lot of times when I view a CPF web page with Firefox, instead of the page loading, I get a page of what I presume to be the underlying code used to create the page. I'm grumbling yet another CPF problem but when I past the link to IE, the page loads correctly. Anybody else experience this?

I get that problem occasionally with the release just before 1.5 when I am at home and on dialup. Mostly when there is a high traffic situation and a slow connection. At work I sometimes have to refresh to see a page with 1.5 but that is some thing goofy in our T1 and router connection. That happens to everyone here with Firefox or IE.

There have been reports of Firefox 1.5 instability (not widespread, but not uncommon either). You might want to use another browser until it's sorted out.

From Mozilla executive:

"The next release of Firefox, version 1.5.0.1, is expected in late January or early February. Schroepfer said the two main goals of that release are security and stability."

I had some problems after changing to 1.5 last week, but it came down to instability from the ISP (again :()
They have reduced our(I share a DSL with my neighbour) speed to 3.2MB to see if it can make the line stable. Right now were paying for 6MB, so this is a bit irritating, but it's better to have a stable slower DSL than a fast "choppy" one.

BTW, I'm between laptops right now(I've got 2 side by side on my table), does anyone know how to export the settings(and bookmarks) from one Firefox to another? And the same with Thunderbird as well.

I haven't had any problems with CPF, but the Fox doesn't do so well with downloading files. If you can right click and save as it's okay, but if you have to left click so you can't see where the file is really coming from, it'll not let that slide.

You could just transfer the profiles from one laptop to the other, Thomas. They're usually located in the application data of your "My Documents" folder..

Or go to the "Bookmarks" tab > "Manage Bookmarks" > "File" tab > "Export" > and save the "bookmarks.html" file to your desktop. Open that file via Firefox's Bookmark manager's "Import" on the other computer... should work, I'd think.

I can't find a way to do that with settings, tho - probably have to set settings/preferences manually, one-by-one.
