Here's my new project light.

Specs

-Approximately 1150 Lumens using ROP High output lamp (1150 Lumens before optical loss)
-Approximately 550 Lumens using ROP Low output lamp (550 Lumens before optical loss)
-Custom 6AA to D holder
-UCL Lens
-Custom PR Base lamp holder
-Medium Stripple Reflector (Zero artifacts in beam Surefire Style)
-10amp Rated Tailswitch
-Sub 2D size

I may make a few of these if people are interested. I may do a batch of 20 and get them all black anodized with the finned heads and grooves bodies. Pricing will be around $175 ready to go minus battery's

Pricing will be cheaper depending on body finish options. Stock body cutdown with stock finish will be approximately $50 cheaper.

Now for the Pic's :)

I haven't been around CPF much lately, but I saw this and said "I must get one!"
Chris, count me in for one light and two 550 lumen and two 1150 lumen bulbs.

I love the finned head and the general look of the light.
I am OK with black or silver anodizing - whatever you decide.

I'd love this light in light blue (shadow blue I think its called). Pretty awesome design.. if I didn't already have 2 2D ROPs I'd probably spring for one of these. I'm really interested in hearing the final pricing though! :)

What's the current draw from the cells? You could write in snow with that beam! Show pic's of beam shots! Very nice work.

I would be in for one.
Should also work with 2 of Emillions D cell LiIon's, right?

Sorry.....it will not work with "D" size cells as the battery holder is smaller than the standard 2d.

Why use that ROP lamp instead of a WA bi-pin?

-ROP Lamps are easier to obtain.
-There's a High / Low Lamp in each package for under $10.
-No fussing with the Bi-Pin adjusting hassle.
-Brightest lamp found for 7.2v application.
-Comparable Bi-Pin Lamp WA1111 is the same price for 2 of the ROP lamps
and around 200 lumens dimmer.

I have compared the beam to a WA1111 lamp and the beam is identical only brighter. As for the Anodize I was just going to do regular black.

Mac,

Count me in for at least 2 lights and spare bulbs (same finish as the Custom HID you did for me). Great work!
