Hi! I just recently bought a ARC AA here on CPF and it flickers unless I screw it down real tight.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? I would like to turn the light on and off with one hand. When I screw it down with both hands it feels like it is tightened all the way down but still flickers. Then I have to screw it down EXTRA tight and the light stays on.

Anything that I can do to it to fix this?

Oh btw, I don't own a sodering iron or do mods so it would have to be a simple fix.

sounds like a ground problem... since you can't solder, drop a small piece of aluminum foil inside the tube, that'll lengthen the neg contact

also, clean the contacts really well

I wouldn't screw it down too tight if I were you... that solder blob can flatten out and you'll need a soldering iron to reshape it to be all nice and happy.

you'll need to heat the existing solder blob until it melts, and then add a bit more fresh solder. Don't heat the pill too much, you may damage the circuit.

Google "soldering tips" for more. Good luck.
