Focusing an LED

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering... Has anyone tried to put a focusing biconvex lens in front of an LED source? For instance, take an L4, get one of the filters for the bezel and stick a lens in it.

Might be just what is needed to focus the light and give it greater throw.

I recently ran across the "Underwater Kinetics: UK 4AA ZOOM eLED" at Brightguy. Says it has a Focusable beam and Press once for high; when on high, press twice rapidly for low. I have not found any more info on it but it looks interesting.
