Default I am in need of some suggestions

    Hello,

I am sending out press releases.

I was hoping some people can suggest some publications both hardcopy and online that I should send infromation to.

I am also trying to think of larger retailers that might be at the shotshow looking for product to send a press release to.

    Thanks
    Jon

    Yep,

I am going to try and mainstream some CPF creations. I had some press contact me about the Indium Smart so we now have a press release and I am going to use this opportunity to get some cpf creations seen outside of cpf.

I just need lots of places to send them too.

    Thanks

How's about Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, The various men's magazines (I.E. Men's Journal, etc).

Then there's the varoius sites: www.thinkgeek.com, etc.

You could also send out to the various computer magazines, cnet, etc.

Maybe Popular Science/Mechanics? If they picked the Indum Smart as a new product of the year you'd sell a ton of them.

    I'm thinking about some magazines...
    - Popular Science / Popular Mechanics -- for PopSci you could get into the What's New section, and for PopMech... whatever their version of "What's New"
    - Wired -- they featured a few flashlights in this month's issue, the SF E2e and Inova X0, I think. If you really get them interested, they might write about the flashlight community and your budding company.
    - Cargo -- men's fashion magazine, features *very* expensive items, cars, clothes, computers, gadgets
    - Sync -- a gadgets magazine, if you get the Smart into the magazine, it will likely be featured with half-naked women... good advertising IMO.

There are probably a lot of hobbyist magazines I missed, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

As for websites... the very best idea I can think of is to get ThinkGeek.com interested -- they are a little overpriced but they offer what the customers want, nifty gadgets. A programmable flashlight will likely go over well with their customer base.

There are also quite a few advertisements for stuff made by smaller sized manufacturers in their magazine.

I'm not sure whether they'd publish a press release.
I suspect that they'd do a review though.

Just read a thread started by MillerMods who was trying to find out why the lack of interest in his 3 stage L0P. He mentioned there was more interest from Japan than on CPF. Maybe you can get the help of Japan (and Singapore) members to help promote the Smart over there. The people in those countries seem more interested in the latest mordern technical wonders than John Q Public in North America.

    The Robb Report

I tried to get something going with AWR. That was a year ago. I think your efforts to bring CPF creations to the mainstream public would make a great article. They were interested in featuring high end flashlights. Contact info sent by P.M.

Is this the same Angus who makes the disc-shaped "Angus" light?
I suspect highly that it is..I just heard about it last week in Mags string "So What Did I Miss?" and had this to say:

"I too would like to know what the latest and greatest is these days..but it'll take time, reading thru it all...
    I looked up the Angus..it's quite lovely...deserves to be in the Modern Museum of Art if ya ask me. I checked the museum collection here;

    http://catsearch.atomz.com/search/ca...p-f=ISO-8859-1

and I think they need to update it!
Which new flashlight deserves to be part of the collection, ya think?....?

(can TTL pick 'em, or WHAT?)

Jon; I suggest you include the "Angus" in your release with the "SMART " (which is also beautiful, in it's way) and send a copy to MOMA!

By the way how much $ is the SMART?
