Do I understand this right?

F1 with F2 head --> more output, lesser runtime (than original L1 head)?
F2 with F1 Head --> weaker light, much more runtime (than L2 head of course)?

q 2: is the Fenix 2 stage mod possible for both models?

PS:
+ what are now really the runtimes (till regulation ends)
on lighthound there is stated "4 hours" for the L2, but the graphs dont show 240 Mins, there is end of regulation at some 150 Mins with 2500 mAh NiMhs.

you won´t like the answer: they varie
ordinary user don´t really know anything about the true capacity in their rechargables.
You need equipment like Silverfox have.

fenix 1AA head driven with 2AA body(NiMH) is not recommend.
pretty inefficient.

everyone here on cpf knows that the runtime on the L1p is MUCH longer than this

lighthound should use better NiMH.

L2P head on L1P body gets better runtime and is slightly brighter. Running the L1P head on the L2P body isnt recomended I guess.

That's a very interesting graph chevro. I might just have to pick me up a L2P just to use it on my L1P body. Slightly brighter, with a flatter curve, and a good 30-40 minutes of extended runtime on an NiMH. I wonder why they don't just make the L1P with the true regulation circuit.

I'd be willing to bet it has something to do with being able to use low capacity garden variety AA batteries. Like 2 AA alkaline batteries will happily power the L2p but one cell probably won't power the lux for any real time so it's performance with the masses of the world (non-CPF) types would be dubious.

That make sense.

It also forces us flashaholics to buy 2 lights instead of one. :grin2:

It is my understanding that the F1 head will not work with two batteries - you have to use a dummy battery if you install an F1 head on an F2. Therefore swapping heads will give you a different setup with the F2 on an F1 body, but the same deal with an F1 head on an F2 body.

Please stop calling it an F2 and F1.. It's a Fenix L2 and L1.. you're making me dizzy. We have enough to keep track of here with our edc's and our E2e's and such...
:thanks:
