I know the SureFire Kr2 rechargeable kit is designed to work with the 6p. The kit comes with a b65 batt and extender. But wouldnt this same kit work on 9p? Given the 9p is the same length as the 6p with the extender? Can someone let me know? Thanks in advance.

The extender that comes with the kit is not the same as the A19, which is the extender that makes the 6P the same size as the 9P (and use rechargeables). You should look into other rechargeables, I think Pilas.
