Hi All,

I decided to do a regulation plot on my L2P. Now I wouldn't bother posting this as many runtime plots already exist for this light but what amazed me is that I got nearly 3 hours regulation on a pair of new Energizer Alkalines . The only thing I did was deoxit and progold all the contacts but I can't believe that accounted for such a huge increase in runtime over what alot of folks are getting. I guess it's YMMV.

Regards,

Dave

What exactly is Deoxit and Progold? Has anyone else done this to their L2P and had similar results?

I saw a two pack of Deoxit and Progold at Fry's last week. Only $15

One removes oxidization the other has some silvery material to aid in electrical contact. I think

DeoxIT and ProGold are electrical contact cleaners. They are made by Caig Laboratories and are available at various electronic supply stores, including Radio Shack and Fry's. Or, you can order direct from the manufacturer at http://store.caig.com/.

I have used the products on the battery connections of my flashlights and cell phones with good results.

this and other high resistance contacts like bad switch are the week links in regulated falshlights!
if the regulator stays nearly efficient over a large input voltage current will increase if voltage falls.
it´s a vicious circle for the week alkalines

and of course
maybe it´s a pretty efficient led and regulator combination too. ;-)

so it´s not a surprise. (for me)

thx for sharing the information with us!
