So I'm trying to get my hands on the new Eneloop NiMHs which are currently only available in Japan.

I head over to this translator http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr

Then I head over to some Japanese ebay type auction site using the translator.

Here

And find the merchants phone number in Yokohama to be 0426-45-2033

So I call them using the 011-81 prefix and hey! It's ringing... .... ....

So the guy answers "Hai!" and I reply

"English?"

After struggling a bit, he says... "very little" which sounded like about all he was able to say.

So we both laughed and he said sorry and I said sorry LOL

His 2,220 yen for 8AA Eneloop translate to about $18 USD plus shipping.

Does dat2zip speak Japanese? Maybe the Sandwich Shoppe could buy some of these cells from that guy and sell them to CPF'ers. I think I'll wait for them to come out here though; $5+ per cell (after shipping etc.) is too rich for my blood.

$5 per cell!!! Where's it say that?? (not that you couldn't lie to me and get away with it using japanese caligraphy) ;)
