I have something fairly similar, and depending on what kind of use you had in mind they can be a great option. I have lights that shine on my fireplace, for example, and in that situation the light is directional so it doesn't make much of a difference. They might not light the entire room, but they can definately accent something very nicely..

My point was, actually to use led lamp (as in those pictures) for hanging lamp at home in place of halogen lamp.
And how is actually their power and brightness? Do they might to lighting up all room etc.

Current LED lightbulbs produce the equivalent light to a 1 to 2 watt LED flashlight. Turn off the room lights, do a ceiling bounce with a 1 or 3 watt flashlight and you can get a feel for how dim it is.
