The PAL (Personal Acessory Light) Survival Light is a short, oblong, single Red LED, single battery LED flashlight. It is about the size of a large, heavy cigarette lighter case. The PAL Survival Light is coated in a synthetic rubber called Sanoprene. This material makes the light shock- and moisture-resistant. The business end contains a plate with microchips, the diode, and a lens to focus the beam. The unit is bound together by a rust-proof, stainless-steel band.
This LED flashlight has four operating modes -- Always On, Low Beam, High Beam and Strobe. The Always On mode emits a soft glow so you can find the light in the dark. The Low Beam lasts more than 200 hours and is bright enough for walking around in the dark. The High Beam lasts for 20 hours and emits a bright beam that can be seen up to 1/4 mile away. The Strobe setting flashes a beam at 1.5 second intervals for use as an emergency beacon.
