Hi there,
Work as a docktor and I neeed a small pen thats fits in my breastpocket. It should have a contstant runtim like the L2P and the drop off. If L1P vould have had the same graph as the L2p I would have bought that. Now Im egarly waiting for the review of Fenix LOP:

Any Idé of any other lights you would recomend with 1-2 AA-AAA, that slips easily into a shirtpocket.
My dream vould be one with two AAA and a very goodlightoutput for a short period of time.

(For the right flashlight the price is right!)
Best regards to you all CPFérs
(Anny extremely good AAAAA torch would also do it but those lamps with good brightness seeems hard to find. Spill is irrelevant for me since I use the lamp for smal body orificies like ears, nose and mouth etc..)

I don't think English is his primary/native language, that's not so unusual around here, seems that quite of few of the posters here are from non-English speaking countries.

Easy, now, I'd be willing to bet based on wording difference alone that Mattia5 isn't from the US, and I'd wager that English isn't his/her primary language. In fact, it looks like it's come from a translator program to me..

I'd just like to apologize, before disappearing into the brush that I first crawled out of.

Alex, don't worry about it..it happens to all of us now and then..

Mattias, you might want to look for one of the multi-level nanomates Andrew is making, if anybody is looking to get rid of one..I'd think it would be almost ideal..

Remember hearing about this in the context of EMT's (e.g. ambulance folk) and nurses: if you are going to use it for checking pupil dilation then the L0P is probably way to bright and cause a considerable amount of discomfort for your patients.

Also, if the light is too bright it would wash out fine color gradations.

Another thing to consider is the fact that L0P is a twisty... it might make more sense to get something that has a momentary switch or at least a clicky.

Then again, running the L0P off a rechargeable may just fit the bill...

Best to avoid slang and words that your not familiar with. You may end up offending some sensitive souls.

First of all, it will probably be best to let everyone know where you're located so that some people will be sensitive to trying to recommend lights that are actually available in your country (which I'm guessing to be either Netherlands, Germany, or one of the the Scandanavian countries.)

Most of the medical practitioners over here in the U.S. use the freebie giveaway lights that the drug sales people drop off. They're those disposable penlights that have the switch in the clip. And the battery that you were referring to is probably an AAAA size like the one used in the Streamlight Stylus.

There's always the Welch Allyn Penlite Halogen (not an LED). It's purpose built for doctors:

Hi,

Well I am a doctor (in USA), and I use this light:

http://www.qualitychinagoods.com/1xaaa-keychain-p-372.html?osCsid=8752f731abb7efe16409ae114bb3c63f

from Quality China, I know price is not important, I paid $4.29 delivered for this. Perfect intensity for checking pupils, sore throats, etc. Color is white with very slight blue tint, much better than incandescent yellow for checking sore throats. Only problem you might have is no pocket clip, I just throw mine in the side pocket of my lab coat. At $4.29 I don't worry about losing it.

Tail click switch is perfect size for me to hold and click with one hand while holding a tongue blade in the other.

The Dorcy AAA is a little too short and the color a bit bluer, but it works ok too.

Oh, I almost forgot, the light looks better than the photo, has a professional appearing chrome color.

Mattia5, welcome to CPF.
If you can wait a month or 2 the Peak Pacific might be worth a look. The brass and aluminium models are cheaper than the stainless steel.
The pocket clip may not ship with the 1st units.
The body kit (1AA/2AAA/1CR2) will come later.

Runtime curves are quite flat
Alkaline: 3hrs to 50% 8 hours total

NMH: 1.75hours to 50% 5 hours total

1.6v Lithium: 5hours Maximum Brightness

Other lights you might consider are the Nuwai 0.5 watt lights. TM3-10H (1AAA) and TM-311H (2AAA).
Here is a review containing both (The TM-311H is called the River Rock 2AAA)

Runtime beamshot comparasions of the TM-310H with the Fenix L0P and Arc AAA.

The Nuwais are sold in the dealers forum as well as many online stores. Available in black and silver.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for all the help, right, I shouldnt have used slang Im not familiar with. And thank you, I know my english isnt that good. Welch penlight realy look smart but how bright? The UK 2*AAA is perfect sice and pocketability with the nice clip but 5 lumens is not enough. River Rock also has a good shape and beam but I would prefer a more "white" light. The Pacific look interesting but then again, it has a head that tend to make it hard to pull it out of a pocket.

I should have been more specific yesterday. The torch that I use today is a 2*aaa maglite with a microstar. Bright but have two problems the way I see it. Bluish light. A head.

Maybe Ill go with the L0p and hope theyll make a L0p2*aaa in the future.

Thanks again, you got a nice forum here, I stumbled on it by mistake while doing gearresearch.
