And how exactly do you pronuonce it. I thought it was "fen nix" but lots of people at SHOT were calling it "Phoenix" like the city.

Is it latin? If so, Fenii.

Is it English? If so, Fenixes (no English words I know of end -xs) example Fox/foxes, (not foxii).

Is it Chinese? If so, ?

I think we are pluralizing Fenix (the manufacturer), when we should be pluralizing the item itself.

"I have 3 Fenix flashlights"
"I have 2 Fenix L1P's"

I'm no english major at all... I'm not even sure pluralizing is a word.

L1P's would be possessive, as in, "my L1P's luxeon is a dud!".

Although I do agree on your point, we are "pluralizing" the manufacturer's name.

But we do that all the time, "my Maglites are all black" etc.

I agree with teststrips and bwaites that Fenix should not be pluralized, the word it modifies (flashlight, L1P, etc.) should be.

:devil:

That would be true if the word Fenix were derived from Greek or Latin.

Index -> Indices
Matrix -> Matrices
Appendix -> Appendices
Thorax -> Thoraces
Varix -> Varices

However, as Fenix is a novel word and is not originally Greek or Latin, the convention is to add -es to convert it to the plural form. So, the plural of Fenix is Fenixes

Yeah, I'm a Latin/Greek nerd. Parochial school and evil nuns will do that to you.
