Jon, John and others - and thx Bernie for pointing the thread out to me !

I´m just quite busy with business, family and life in general, all well but theres a certain lack of spare time to spent on this forum or others, I do check in once in a while but rarely post unless something really gets my attention.

I´m actually just back from a 2 week trip to China and HK, meeting some of my dear HK CPF friends and for the first time seeing some chinese flashlight production facilities - interesting contrast to SF´s high-tech CNC equipment ;)

Actually the company I´m working with started to sell Li-Ion cells for cell phones and LED flashlights a while ago (targeting the very entry-level market) which both to a certain degree is influenced through me and my knowledge gained through and with CPF - interesting how things work out sometimes.

In regards to CPF I think there also was this "battle of titans" earlier last year which played some role in my no-more-as-active role - having beeing around before all the commercialisation started and before most if not all of the of the players entered the sand-box I´m trying to not lean to any one side (as I see them) but in the end things just lessened my enthusiasm quite a bit.

Also remembering threads like the very old "Klaus´twins thriving" from another member long lost and from almost 4 years ago now - there are three small kids at almost 4 and 6 years now which after growing up a bit are also consuming (and rightly so) quite some of "Daddys" time - all definetely sitting squarely in the flashaholic camp already and each owning one 5x5mm headlamp, a 8x5mm 1AA and one modded XM2 with nice 3Watters runnning of 17670 LiIons - the ARC AAAs I got for each are still kept in a hidden place though :)

Well - not much else to say - I do regret not having more time to spent on CPF but also somehow the "sparkle" lost some of its edge - the days of my very first own Luxeon mod using the ZTL+ are long gone as are the days of my first Luxeon Mag mods, the first production Luxeon (ARC LS) gave way to great "boutique" lights like Larrys, Mikes, Charlies and Dons creations and those are now being followed by very interesting CPF-member creations from all over the world and increasing quality chinese Luxeon and Luxeon clone designs - but all this is more on the evolutionary than on the revolutionary side I think and much of it is somehow "Deja Vu" to me as well .....

Good for now - thx all for asking and thinking of me

More later and Best Regards from germany

Klaus
