Homemade night vision, CVS-style

I found this to be of interest - got an entry on hackaday.com yesterday.

I think I'm going to try my luck with it, although I'll probably experiment with more LEDs and using USB to power the whole thing.

Which CPFer will own up to it?

I am a student at RPI, and I do these projects for fun in my spare time. I also do a lot of flashlight projects, which I may put up here eventually. Until then, you can find them posted on candlepowerforums.

I can't believe the info on Google about hacking these things!!

I have one of those LOMO ELF-1 IR scopes... atrocious performer, and about $100 more than the CVS version.
