Hi everyone,

I'm offering to mod a batch of Fenix L1P's to output an assortment of colors.
I've already modded a few as prototypes and they worked out great!
Runtime should be similar to stock L1P's. Here are some nice pictures of them
in action (cyan, amber, red, green):

57727919-M.jpg
57727947-M.jpg

I'll also offer all the other colors that lumileds offers including
royal blue, blue, red-orange which are not shown here.

Heres what I'll do, I'll take orders for these until midnight (EST) March 12th
Then on Monday March 13th, I'll make the order for the emitters.
I'll order some extra to put up in my store in the custom section
(Fenix-Store.com ) but this thread will be closed for new orders at that point.
Depending on how many are order, I guestimate shipping within the
week if the list doesn't exceed 50. But even then you guys know I'm
pretty quick :)

They will be $60 shipped to anywhere on the planet
and regardless of color.
If you need energizer e2 lithiums, you can order as many as
you need for $1 each to go with the colored fenix. :D

To reserve your custom fenix, please post here and then
paypal me with your cpf id and your color choice(s) and
how many L91 energizer lithiums you need.

Paypal cash to [email protected]
Paypal credit to [email protected]
$1 discount for pp cash.

This will be fun! thanks :D

UPDATE:
Here is the list of specific color emitters available from lumileds that I'll
be offering (lambertians only):
Red (625nm)
Red-Orange (617nm)
Amber (590nm)
Green (530nm)
Cyan (505nm)
Blue (470nm)
Royal Blue (455nm)

UPDATE:
For those of you who are collectors and want one of each, email me
for a sweet deal :)

WOW! Whats the bin of the R/O LED and the mA draw? Any other specs?

I dunno the bins because I have yet to order them. The pictures
do not show any r/o's. Left to right, blue, amber, red, green. Current
draw should be the same as the stock L1P. :)

The one on the left in the pic is blue? Do you have a pic of cyan?

That one is cyan. Blue should be deeper and Royal Blue even more.
The amber is actually much lighter then red. The pictures don't
do justice.

Yes, one plastic to rule them all and in the shopping cart buy them...

Wouldn't the current draw be different with the different vf's of the colored leds? I'm assuming the circuit will remain stock.

They current will always more or less vary based on the Vf, but not by much.
The circuit seems to be a wide open circuit so it'll push as much as it can but
is self limited. Also, without an emitter hooked up the V reads 6.8v. So
my guess is 325ma +/- 25ma. As you can see from the pictures, they all seem
to do quite well...

If you order them by brightness I would say, green, red, blue, amber.
And current is not the only factor. Human eyes have a peak sensitivity
around green. :D

Also, I updated in the first post - if anyone wants all 7 colors, email me and
lets talk :D

I wanna 470nm blue one! Wish you had pics of the blue, royal blue, and cyan side by side! the wavelength specs help a lot, comparing them to my experience with lasers. Could you possibly get a pic of the three types of blue?

Those are the only ones I have for now :) Eventually I stock at least
10 of each in my store. Maybe more for some like red since thats a
practical color to preserve night vision.

:ohgeez:I'm a little confused by your response, 4Sevens, do you mean those are the only pics you have available right now or the ones in the pics are the only colors you will have ready to go right away, the others being possible?

If you can send a 470nm blue right away, I'll send a Paypal likewise (Priority Mail with DC) and half a dozen lithium AAs.

BTW, you mentioned earlier you would be offering 2500mAh Sanyo NiMHs for the L1P customers (I'm one...), is that still a GO or not?

Could I use this L1p on an L2p body for extended runtime in color as an option? I know there was a big fuss over the L2p head running better in regulation when used on the L1p body, but I never heard anything about the other way around. The Fenix documentation strictly forbids anything over 1.7V, so whats your take on this? It would be a really nice plus to be able to switch back and forth, or would that entail a custom driver like a MillerMods? Sorry to make it overcomplicated, I just love my flashlight Legos.

OT, sorry, but: Why kill for one? If you just want to "play" with a UV light, there are oodles of multi-5mm array Chinese lights on eBay to choose from. I've got a 21-LED eBay special (that normally uses that dreaded 3AAA carrier - here's a mod for ya - just so happens those common 3AAA carriers are approx the same dimensions as a Pila 150A (18500) cell -- mine works like a charm!!) I picked up for $11 shipped that is a great toy to mess around with. Bright as heck, very floody, with Pila Power to boot!

Sorry I wasn't very clear. All seven colors offered by lumileds will be offered
by me. But as far as picts, this is all I have for now until I've ordered all
the colors from lumileds. Royal Blue 470nm is not available for now.

where did I mention about the 2500mah sanyos? I do have them in
fenix-store.com but not as a CPF special. I do have the AAA 900mah Sanyos
for $1 :D

When I placed my order for a L0P, early Jan 06, you said you would be offering the AA Sanyos soon for the L1P`and L2P. Did you see my question about the possibility of using the colored L1P head on an L2P body? How long would rthe lead time be on the blue LED versions? Thanks for answering the questions! ;)

Well as of now I have not found a good source for the sanyos. However I
do have those energizer 2500mah nimh's in my store. Here's
a secret, those are sanyos - they have HR marked on the cathode end. :D

No, L1P can only take 1.5v or one AA. Right now I am not offering
a colored L2P head. I orders a special batch of unpotted LE L1P's.

Lead time is the same for all colors. You'll probably get them by the end of
march. I'll order these in mid march and once they arrive I'll start
building them in the order these mods are paid for. All should be shipped
at the latest the end of march. :)
