I don't use either, generally. I use a standard such as this - today is:

26 Feb 2006

Harder to mess up that way..

Yeah, I like ACMarina's way whenever possible.

Say... Craig, what's up with all these polls all of a sudden?

Third vote for the "miltary" date standard. I typically date checks that way and only use the goofy "American" MM/DD/YYYY fotrmat on forms where instructed to.

Europeans have it right with DD/MM/YYYY - at least that makes sense (albeit least-signifigant digit first). I prefer YYYY.MM.DD for my own uses, however - makes it easy to sort dated... anything on a computer.

Oddly enough, I tend to use "-" on the computer and "/" when writing. Slashes seem to be easier to write quickly but dashes look better. And I always use a four-digit date to remove any ambiguity.

Most often I use "|" then "." followed by the "-" if at all possible. . .That's all!

Neither. For seven more minutes it's 26FEB06 .

EDIT: Nevermind, the CPF server time is off by 8 or so minutes, so it's really 27FEB06.

Fairly evenly both ways. Just depending how my pen flows across the paper or how I feel like typing that day.

I tend to almost always write out the month... February 8, 1973... even on applications and whatnot. I think I've used both "/"s and "-"s though.

I use a slash when writing and about 90% or more of the time on a computer use
month <space> day and the computer formats properly to a mm/dd/yyyy format.
so 2 27 comes out 2/27/2006
I'm not likely to be around when the Y3k problem arises...

Well, I picked slashes, but I noticed today, at work, I used dashes without even thinking about it. If there were a "both" or "either" category, I would pick that one.
