BIG or small Name Brand Electronics

Seems like the popularity of lesser (small) brand name electronics is competing well with well known (BIG) name brands.

What's your point of view?

More choice is always a good thing. I look at it this way-for comparable quality a small brand can charge less by doing away with the advertising. Of course, you'll always get things selling for less by skimping on quality, but that's where word of mouth comes in. It's very easy to spread either good or bad things about a product quickly via the Internet, so low quality off-brands as a rule don't last long.
