I am getting an Aleph Lux 5 BB750 LE, with a W--T bin. T vf. What is the forward voltage of a T vf lux 5. Is there a chart available showing vf's of various lux 3, and Lux 5's. I had one in my favorites, but new CPF program ended that.

cratz2, thanks. Now next question, would running 8.4 volts, with a W--T lux 5, BB at 750mA's to led work? I imagine that 750mA's to led would pull the voltage down considerably, or would it? BB is rated at 4.5-6volts with lux 5, and T vf would be approximately 6.5 volts. I am thinking about 2X17500's, which are rated at 1Ah.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean when you say, 'I imagine that 750mA's to led would pull the voltage down considerably'. Looking at your info, you need between 2-6V of input voltage. You could run either 2x123 cells or whichever single LiON cell fits the body... maybe the 17670 for a 2 cell body or an 18650 if it happens to have one of the 18650 compatable bodies.

To build your own, you look at it backwards... Looking at the regulator chart here.

Basically, look at the LED you want to use "Lux V" look at the voltage range you want to send to it "8.4V" and it will tell you which board or boards would be best for you application. Looks like the Downboy is the way to go. The board sends whatever voltage it needs, but regulates the current so a DB750 will send 750ma to your Lux V.

If you replaced the light engine with a ***T Lux V on a Downboy 750, you could run your two 17500s or any two 3.7-4.2V LiON cells.

What cratz2 said. Your best bet would be 2x123 primaries or if you can get a 1x18650 tube that would work too. If you're willing to run a longer tube, then you need to change your order to a DB750, then you can run whatever 2-4xLi-Ion you want.

Thanks guys. I wanted to know if two LiIon's, 17500's would pull the voltage down so I could run the BB750 with lux 5. Looks like the voltage to led would be too much higher than the led vf, so would be a direct dive situtation, or would kill board/led. I have the BB coming, on way tomorrow, so I will use one of my 18650 TB bodies, to get most runtime. Thanks for input.
