    Ooo STREAMLIGHT Task-Light 1AA??!!

    STREAMLIGHT Task-Light 1AA PDF
-Extremely durable anodized Gun Metal Gray aluminum housing is distinguishable among other tools
    -Delivers up to 8.0 lumens
-Up to 5 hrs continuous run time at optimum output Up to 80 hrs on low power
    -O-ring sealed for maximum weather-resistance
    -Impact-resistant polycarbonate lens
    -“No Excuses” Life Time Warranty

Did I miss this? <<Well duh, yes I did>> At 8 lumens how does it compare to an Infinity Ultra? I measure my CMG style Ultra at ~3.25 so only 1" longer and two stage. I just sent an email to Fox International that link says mid March, I asked if it would be there

It's a pity the head is so big. I reckon I'm gonna stick with my 2 level modded Fenix...
If it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet..

Party STREAMLIGHT Task-Light 1AA Nice Light

I won't say great light but for a little more than $10 it is a great value. The two levels are good for walking/reading. The 'Big Head' houses a nice reflector, so a nice throw. It is "just a single 5mm Nichia LED" so don't expect a flamethrower. I'd rate it about the same as my CMG-style Ultra. Not quite as bullet proof but the two levels are a big plus. The light is made in China but has Streamlight's warranty.
Oh, Great service from Fox (in the link at the bottom of first post)

Its' function and form factor look a little like that of the TM-317. Wonder if the innards are similar.

Wits' End - how does the button switch function... to toggle between low/high/off... or is it a tail twisty on/off, with the button selecting levels only?

I've a few spare Nichia CS's floating around here - this light might make a good, inexpensive mod candidate... if the head/electronics are accessible. Nice looking little light, for the $$ (yes, I'm a 5mm fan!).

    Thanks

I remember seeing that Streamlight has a rebadged RR/Nuwai headlamp offering, so this might very well be another Nuwai product. Looks and sounds pretty nice. Sure hope two level lights become the norm.

Push button for off-hi-low-off. Nicer feel to the switch than some I have used. The low setting seems to be PWM by my test, moving it rapidly back and forth and seeing multiple lights as opposed to a blur.

How bad is the tint? Would low be too blue for reading?

THX, Wits' End - as that's what I was "hoping" for (no twisty), I'll have to get a few of these now... dang you!!

Wits' End, can you get to the LED, is it replaceable?

Have you run the light for long? You said that it's output is about the same as an ultra but the ultra has a battery life of close to 20 hrs and is semi-regulated. I'm wondering if the efficiency of the task light sucks or it is fully regulated.

    Thanks.

according to flashlightreview, The CMG and the Gerber versions of the Infinity Ultra put out less.

Throw (Lux) (click for description) ~ 25 at beam center. (4.97 Comparison Chart equivalent)
Overall Output (click for description) ~ 282 (2.82 Comparison Chart equivalent)

Glad to hear that as I ordered a 1xAA tasklight the other night. Maybe the low setting matches the Infinity
