surefire L1 question

IF the L1 works like the L2, the light will dim REALLY quickly and if you let the batteries rest for amoment, it'll jump back up (or try to) high and then fall back down. After the batteries can't even try to spike up to high, itll stay on low until it dies.

I would compare it to a weight lifter on his last shred of energy, no matter how hard he tries, he can't get past that pont and gently lowers the weight back onto the rack.

Yeah, the way the L2 works is that it puts out regulated light on high until it can't support it anymore, then it steps down to the low level.

Mine dies really fast. When it goes, it goes. You'd better have a spare battery or another light right with you. It is the "old" type though, with the floody beam and the flat front.

Does anyone know if the newer types are like that too?
