I'm wanting to build an ARC AAA UV head for a friend out of one of CY's deadheads. I have an oroginal ARC UV, but have no idea what is in it, LED wise. Any advice for the same or better?

It is going to be tough to find a high output UV. Any LED site will sell you the $.60 ones, but I am guesing you want more then that.

The "best" LED will depend on what you want the UV to do and what wavelength you need.
These guys have a lot of information on their site. 380nm seems like a good place to start.
