Hi all...
I'm a noobie, tho' I've been lurking for a few months. Must say you guys are costing me a fortune in new flashy toys...don't tell my wife. :)

Magellan-Superfire -
Just found (and bought) a Magellan, 3xAAA, 1 W luxeon at Academy sports.
It seems to be made by Superfire, similar to their SF-101 model.
Has 2 output, selectable vai a side clicky switch; 35ma on low, 350ma on high. Low output seems to be about the same as a RR 2xAAA; High is similar to Dorcy Metal Gear but with a much tighter center spot...more throw.
On nice thing is that is somewhat focusable, via a twisty bezel a'la Mag.
According to the link below, it gets about 2.5 hrs (on high?), Magellan pkg says 35 hr (on low?). Seems to have the same lux chip as the Metal Gear.

David 15 -
It's my new EDC. I find myself 'progressing' to more-power EDCs as time goes on. I started ( ~ 2002) with a homemade 2XAA, 1 Nichia LED, using a homemade booster based on a Brinkman design. Then the Dorcy 1xAAA came out and I switched...then the RR 2xAAA...switched again.
Anyone else notice this 'power escalation'?

The David 15 ( Coast TT7840CP) seems about right for EDC; most of the advantages of the L1P with longer runtime.

Glad to be aboard...let the light shine in !

Hello and Welcome to CPF!

That/Those look like some of the popular ones being sold from AmondoTech and LightHound among others. . .

Enjoy!
