Does anyone know anything about what color of lights different military organizations are using for low-light conditions?

I have heard that the U.S. Air Force has switched to dim white, and the Army is in the process of switching to blue (maybe just a rumor). And of course there is SureFire's mention of the yellow-green A2. My old Angle head flashlight came with red, green, blue, and translucent white filters.

I heard blue was used for low observability. The theory (alegedly) is that colors are more difficult to see from a distance. Blue was chosen because it produces less eye strain than red.
