I was trying to figure out what mA these run at - anyone have any idea?
The typical 60-70mA woul destroy any 5mm UV LED, wouldn't it?

I woulnd't say it would destroy any UV LED. Some probably are more durable than others, just like White leds, which is why the Nichia is used. I'm not sure if the die is what gets damaged or just the epoxy degrades on UV's mainly....
It would shorten the life/brightness of it if the LED wasn't of fairly good quality...
