Has anyone done anything with these 200 Lumen and 400 Lumen SMT LEDs?

These are 5W (0.5A x 10.4v) 200 Lumen, and 10W (0.645A x 17.5v) 400 Lumen .

I don't see any optics for them at Edison's website.

Edison also has a line of Luxeon-looking LEDs, too.

Interesting the PDF shows an 18.5 volt 1.12 amp 600Lumen as under development.
Mos of the time pure colors have higher lumens. I wonder what they are doing?

The data sheets give no information about thermal management - neither thermal resistance data or max Tj. They give maximum board temp though (barely useful).

There's also no data about output vs. current or Vf vs. current. Why the lack of documentation?

That quite flat SMT emitter looks nice, imagine one of that mounted as a "flood" light in the front of a flashlight without any optic, just a lens :)

Meduza: or a asphyerical lens to collimate the beam somewhat.

With an area of 3.4mm for the light emitting portion, you could use a reflector from a mag or such and get a decently tight beam..

That would interest me, but of even more interest is that they have a fresnel section which is empty now.

Since such a lens can throw an oil lamp 20 miles or more I think it will prove to be an ideal solution to the relatively large area of these kinds of LEDs.
