I know very little about led's replacement bulbs for home lighting and I at this time do not feel like doing the research. I'd really just want to see how these led's at this time compare to other forms of indoor lighting. With that said, what would you all choose for this application?

Thanks

Well I'm NO expert but LED replacements of Edison type Incandescent Bulbs is REALLY expensive at the moment. Its MUCH cheaper to go with Flourescent for now.

LEDs last longer, but they don't quite match high-end flourescents in efficiency (supposedly). Also they can produce better colour light, and for that matter ANY colour of light that you want. LEDs also suffer from a lack of 'throw' or flood of light.

They produce a very concentrated spot, great for flashlights, spot lighting, and other prescision lighting (medical, ect). Not so great for lighting up a whole room.
